MyRide.com Celebrity Car Interview: Oliva Munn

23 07 2008

Actress Olivia Munn is best-known for her current role as co-host of G4’s Attack of the Show. While we can’t back it with data, we’d guess she’s probably the most popular talent the channel has. In addition to her role on Attack of the Show, Munn is a successful model, having appeared in campaigns for Nike, Pepsi and Neutrogena. Olivia Munn has also been getting her Hollywood on with roles in the recently released horror-film Insanitarium, Rob Schneider’s upcoming Big Stan, and The Slammin’ Salmon (the next big movie from the guys who brought you Super Troopers). You can check her out too every day on G4tv.com’s daily vodcast, Around the Net. With that, here’s another MyRide With. Continue…

The Tesla Roadster has created a lot of buzz in Hollywood, and why not, it’s a super-fast, zero-emissions convertible with Black Card caché. Much of that buzz has been semi-confirmed speculation surrounding who is actually on the list to take ownership of one, and spotting a celebrity in a Tesla is rarer than seeing Michael Jackson in public. Well add Matt Damon to the “confirmed” side of the semi-confirmed list. Big shout out to our friends at AutoFiends.com for spotting Damon rolling through LA in a prototype, check out the story here.

At the center of the solar system…Celine Dion

The way people are gravitating towards this Mercedes-Benz S-Class, you’d think the sunroof’s purpose was to let the sun out of the car. I knew Celine Dion was popular; hell, after hockey, beer, and humorous fodder, she is Canada’s biggest export. But this is crazy.

The S-Class is a rolling technological masterpiece which, according to Mercedes-Benz, includes a “sun sensor [that] helps compensate for the effects of direct sunlight on the occupants.” Not sure if it works in reverse for nearby pedestrians.

There is just too much going on in this photo not to run a Caption This. Give me your best caption and if it wins I will mail you a MyRide t-shirt not signed by Hulk Hogan. Here’s mine:

“My kids clearly can’t drive so I’m going to take my chances and walk home.”

Got a better one?

Victoria Beckham’s Porsche: This is never a good sign.

Victoria Beckham’s Porsche left her driveway on the automotive equivalent of an ambulance this past Friday. Considering she bought it in March, that means it failed quicker than a Spice Girl reunion tour. Forgive my dour mood, it’s Montuesday (the Tuesday following a Monday holiday).

The other day I noted that, “when it comes to new open-air trucks there is really only one way to head to the beach and that’s in a Jeep Wrangler.” David Beckham knows what’s up and just bought one himself. He gave it the Beckham treatment (blacking out everything, something he does to most all of his cars) and has been seen rolling through SoCal in it over the past couple days. For someone raised in Britain he has always shown a strange affinity for American trucks (Ford F-150, Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade, and Hummer H2 to name a few).

Celebrity Car Parade Spotlight: Convertibles

Celebrity Convertibles

Convertibles excel at two things over their hardtop counterparts: maximizing enjoyment of the good weather summer brings, and allowing occupants to show off. Since a good deal of celebrities live in Southern California and enjoy sunny weather year round, I’ve concentrated this gallery on which celebrity convertibles are (or aren’t) nailing the showing off part, or as I like to say…continue
