MyRide.com Celebrity Car Interview: Slick Rick Rivera, Internet TV Host

8 07 2008

Slick Rick Rivera, former pro-skater and host of “Slick’s Picks” on Scion’s Broadband network has a tough job. Slick travels across the globe to discover the world’s coolest cultural landmarks, stores, and restaurants in a search for the latest in fashion, music, and nightlife. Slick has been seen patrolling Austin, TX during the SXSW music festival, interviewing Talib Kweli backstage in Chicago, and hanging out with breakdancers at the Eiffel Tower. Since Slick seems to have an opinion on most everything, we figured we’d throw some car questions his way. Close the jet door for another MyRide With. Continue…

MyRide.com Celebrity Car Interview: Wayne Allyn Root, The King of Vegas

8 07 2008

Tired of the same political banter and talking points repeated mindlessly throughout coverage of the presidential election? Well that’s because you haven’t met Wayne Allyn Root. Known by many as “The King of Vegas”, Root is the most recognized sports oddsmaker in the world, a high profile CEO, a self-made millionaire, a best-selling author, a TV celebrity, and now a front-runner for the Libertarian presidential candidate nomination (check it out, rootforamerica.com). Root supports smaller government, reduced spending, reduced bureaucracy, lower taxes, and the absolute, no-questions-asked freedom to drive whatever car you want. Did we mention he was classmates in college with Barak Obama? Hop in for another MyRide With…, this should be interesting. Continue…

Playboy Playmate of the Year

We already told you the 2008 Cadillac CTS was hot when we made it the MyRide Car of the Year, but don’t take it from us, take it from Hugh Hefner. Hugh made sure this year’s Playboy Playmate of the Year, Jayde Nicole, took home a brand new CTS. To those of you that think Hugh Hefner is tasteless, Hugh Hefner 2, you, 0.

Kim K’s Bentley is Back

5 06 2008

A couple weeks ago Kim Kardashian’s customized Bentley GTC ended up in the shop after becoming intimately familiar with lane splitting gone wrong. For those keeping score, it’s back on the streets, double-K headrests and all. On a side note, for those that don’t know what lane splitting is, watch it in action; it’s crazy, but completely legal in California.

GM Celebrity Car Fashion Show Mega Event

11 01 2008

GM Style

Somebody scored an exclusive invite (this guy) to the GM Style event this Saturday night. GM Style is essentially a fashion show, except the runway features hot cars with famous celebrities instead of hot models with silly outfits.

Mary J Blige (above) will be performing, as will Maroon 5 and Kid Rock, and Samantha Ronson will DJ the event. I’ve got a list of other celebrities that will be there, but you’ll have to check back here Sunday for more.

In the meantime, check out MyRide.com’s auto show coverage at myride.com/events

The Parade on ESPN.com!

29 11 2007

CCP on ESPN2

To my surprise, Celebrity Car Parade was featured on ESPN.com in their automotive section. We’ve come a long way since that first post and there’s much more to come!

If you are still coming back to this page, note post below (i.e. the Parade has moved).
You can now find the daily Parade on MyRide by going to celebritycarparade.com

Find out tomorrow why Paris is in trouble with the law again…er…kind of.

The Celebrity Car Parade Show

3 11 2007

50 Cent / Will Castro

So I’ve gotten some weird looks when I tell people I was at SEMA last week. For those of you don’t know, SEMA is essentially what you would get if Pimp My Ride, an auto show, and an Oscars after-party collectively had a baby. It is the ultimate show for those who customize cars. Did I mention it’s in Las Vegas?

The site I am now working for, MyRide.com, did extensive coverage of not only the show, but of the many celebrities who were in attendance promoting cars, rims, and of course, themselves. For your enjoyment, courtesy of MyRide:

Top Ten Celebrity Sightings at SEMA
The 50 Cent interveiw (Interviewed by me!)
Matt Leinart interview (Matt, DUB Magazine, and GM debuted his new Tahoe)
Jay Leno talks about his E85 Corvette (car #21,323 in the Leno garage)
Danny Bonaduce interview (acting very Danny Bonaduce)

If you are just interested in the show, check out our entire coverage in the MyRide community.

Also, the return of Celebrity Car Parade on MyRide…it’s coming.

Sorry I’ve been a bit out of touch. I’ve been living out of boxes for weeks am finally starting to settle in this wonderful Nation of California.
